Brunches and cafes I love in Halifax, N.S.

As a resident of Halifax for the last three years (and a lover of good food and coffee), I've had a chance to try out a good amount of cafes and brunch restaurants. This post highlights my favourites, so you can possibly try them out for yourself!
Cheeky Neighbour Diner
My absolute go-to when it comes to brunch in Halifax. The Cheeky Neighbour serves up mostly brunch classics at really affordable prices. Located conveniently on Quinpool road, so it's not far from the North end, South end, or Downtown. My favourites are definitely the avocado toast, the breakfast burrito, and the cheeky classic. They're also well known for their chicken and waffles.
Also, they don't take reservations, so arrive early and be prepared to wait a bit for a table, especially on weekends.
Pane e Circo
Pane e Circo is an upscale, Italian-inspired cafe. They serve coffee, pastries, bread, paninis, and some other grab-and-go lunch options. While I would consider this one of the more expensive cafes in the city, I think it's well worth it. The paninis are absolutely delicious and their iced americano is the best I've had in the city so far!
Bliss Caffeine Bar
Bliss is located on South Park Street, just off of Spring Garden Road. While it does offer grab-and-go coffee and pastries, the brunch is the star of the show. Bliss takes brunch classics and elevates them to a new level. My favourites are the smoothie bowl or the orange chai waffles when I'm feeling something sweet and the bliss brekkie or the breakfast tacos when I'm feeling something savoury.
Uncommon grounds
Uncommon Grounds is also on South Park Street, just further from Spring Garden Road than Bliss. It's your standard coffee shop, offering a variety of coffees and pastries, as well as some bagels and paninis. They get their bagels from a bagel shop called Izzy's in Bedford which is, in my opinion, the best bagel shop in the city, so you should definitely give a bagel a try while you're there.
Almonak
Almonak is in the North End, so a great option if you don't want to go to the South End or Downtown. Their brunch hits the spot every time, with all the ingredients tasting so fresh. I love their fresh juice, which is expensive but worth it. I also really love the breakfast sandwich.
